Christian Benteke ruled out of World Cup after rupturing achilles

Aston Villa's Christian Benteke has been ruled out for the rest of the season, including this summer's World Cup, after suffering a ruptured achilles.
The Belgium striker suffered the injury during training on Thursday.
The club confirmed in a statement on Thursday evening that Benteke would undergo surgery would "be out for a minimum of
six months".
"It's a terrible blow both for Christian and for the Club," said Villa manager Paul Lambert. "He will miss the rest of the season, obviously, and also the World Cup. But he'll work hard because that's what he does and he'll come back for us stronger than ever next season."
Having arrived at Villa for £7m from Genk, Benteke scored 23 times in his first campaign in English football (19 in the league) earning him an improved four year deal.
This term has been less successful, the striker managing just 11 goal , with 10 of them coming in the league.
Vincent Kompany, the Belgium and Manchester City captain, tweeted his support for Benteke. He wrote: "Wishing you all the strength you need and I hope you will recover quickly! We're all with you together! Courage fréro!"
